I-CBC Education and Accreditation
Programs
The criteria for the CBC designation
are:
-
An earned college degree plus a
minimum of three full years of experience in the candidates field;
or five years of experience without a degree; and
-
At least one earned designation
from another association or organization, or from an institution of
higher learning. Candidates who do not meet this requirement may
earn the designation with two years of additional experience in
their area of expertise.
-
New members approved for the CBC
designation must attend the next annual conference to receive the
designation. Newly approved CBC's may not use the designation until
the designation presentation is made at the conference.
TO RE-CERTIFY
-
Attendance at a minimum of at least
one I-CBC conference in a three-year period. (This will count as
twenty-four hours of continuing education.)
-
During each three-year period,
forty-eight hours of continuing education must be completed. Each
day at any recognized conference shall count for eight hours.
Classes from any recognized association or organization or state
governing body will count the same amount of hours they give as
credit toward their requirements. Writing an article for the I-CBC
newsletter will count for eight credits.
